It is highly likely I will be teaching VavaVoom Tease-a-ret Dance classes in Tempe starting November 13th 2008 at a new dance studio recently opened.
If you feel, after reading the info below, you may be interested, please feel free to reach me by way of myspace under Lucy Morals or Romantasy Cabaret and I will send you info. With all the trouble I have had logging in to tribe lately I really dont check in here much anymore.

Lucy Morals
Hello dolls
This is Lucy Morals the bawdy broad with Romantasy Cabaret.
In addition to being on the stage of Romantasy Cabaret, I also write the show, direct and produce it. On days when I am not immersed in that craziness I teach bellydance classes and on occasion, burlesque dance classes.
It is important you all know, first, what burlesque is. Or maybe what it is NOT...
It is NOT pole dancing, it is NOT lap dancing, it is NOT bellydancing.
Burlesque is the classic dance of the tease; in fact burlesque performers do not become nude on stage nor do they show nipples or frontal nudity.
Classically, burlesque is about the art of tease and is an alluring, seductive, and almost secretive style of entertainment. It is as if one is peeking through a crack in the wall at a curvy woman peeling off her wardrobe.
Of course there are various modern takes on burlesque with acts like The Pussycat Dolls and the rising popularity in pole dancing. These more modern styles are not the style I teach. If that is what you are interested in, I have a highly trained friend who is very professional and is an amazing performer who can teach you the more modern styles.
I, on the other hand, tend to embrace more the vintage styles of tease and blend in cabaret and showgirl aesthetics to create a multi-faceted aspect of burlesque.
We take stockings and garters over pleather and hotpants. We prefer feathers and chiffon as opposed to plastic and stripper heels. We emulate glamor girls of the 30s 40s 50s and 60s as opposed to the Britannys, the Christinas and the Carmens of today.
With all of this said, and now feeling better about you knowing where I am coming from, I am putting together some burlesque classes or workshops. Do you think you might be interested?
ALL SHAPES N SIZES ARE WELCOME! CLASS IS INTRO LEVEL.
