  • not sure where your town is but
as with most perfromance art size doesn't matter as much as talent ~ keeping your auid. interested.

the biggest compliant i've heard while sitting watching a performnace from the auid. or friends is song choice or poor planning so the dancer doesn't keep their intrest because the song "sucks", the lack of choreography or not knowing the choreography well so that the performance is smooth.

find a stlye and music you are comforatable with if you have a solid performance all else is ok
perform at the same club for awhile till you get more comfortable and if you do venture out and not all dancers perform at different venues tell your friends and those at the goth club so they can support you and see your other performances and you can feel the love
  • I don't think it's a joke at all. For it may be, but some of the best burlesque performers I know are what society calls plus sized. I am plus sized and I seem to have an ok following. Dirty Martini, World Famous Bob...the list goes on. Heather McCallister (sp?) I hear was amazing. I wish I would have known her. You can visit my website for links to my videos.

I think as long as your acts are fun and interesting, the crowd will love you. Be able to draw them in with your eyes and hips and dance moves.
